OK, I need to gain 10 pounds back. The only problem is – it’s impossible to gain weight when you eat like I do.
Oh, don’t get me wrong – I eat a lot! But it takes a whole lot of fresh foods to add up to the calories I used to take in.
I was thinking about that the other day – What did I do when I was heavier?
I drank pop.
I drank beer.
I ate packaged foods.
I ate fast foods.
I used margarine.
And now, I’ve lost my taste for all of those things. And even if I did eat enough, or drink enough of those things to gain weight (which would be total torture, ick!)– my weight would naturally revert back to it’s normal range once I stopped.
My daughter was talking about wanting to join a gym. She likes to look muscular. I did too. Maybe that’s the answer. Get back to body building. Who ever heard of joining a gym to gain weight? But muscle weighs more than fat, and tone muscles would certainly help me fill out clothes better.
Next question is – how the heck am I going to fit that in? I’ll have to let you know that answer once I figure it out.
What can you learn from my dilemma?
Follow my lead and remove these foods from your diet. Add more fruits and vegetables, and get a little activity in every day – and you too can have this problem. It really is that easy.
Have you added extra meal replacements? I just found your blog so I am unsure on your structure for your eating yet. But if you are only eating 4 or 5 meals a day, try adding in another 2 with meal replacement shakes and/or bars. Smoothies with extra protein as well.
You don’t have to go back to the junk in order to gain weight and lifting weights won’t put on the weight unless you are eating enough to put it on.
Yes, since you do not have a disorder, you are in charge of a very good problem to have. lol
I’ve considered that. But for the most part I don’t eat much that is packaged because of the chemicals, sogars, corn syrup, and sodium.I’ll have to see if I can find a suitable one. Or find a way to make my own.
Do you truely need to gain weight? What is your height and weight? Some of us are not built that big (especially when you don’t eat junk).
Hi Becky,
I am in the lower end of ‘normal’ weight, so technically I am not underweight. I just feel sexier with a little more weight on me 😉
