A friend of mine says that its very important to get rest during the Winter Solstice. As luck would have it, I ordered myself a pillow top mattress cover and a new pillow – and they arrived today. It is a Christmas present to myself. Do you do that too?
So I’m really looking forward to getting to bed, but I wanted to check in with you to see what else I can do to help you.

I was wondering if you could give me some tips to help prepare for some overseas guests that are arriving for New Year.. I They will stay for a week, and we will have to get the (trashed) house back in order in only 4 days, after Christmas….
Hi Fiona,
I know you keep a clean house, so this will not be a big problem for you. The biggest problem is finding homes for all the new stuff quickly, and disposing of all of the wrappings and boxes.
Start now to make sure you have enough clean bedding and towels, and your meal planning.
Make sure to clean your kitchen nightly, and keep the baths wiped down. Then cleaning will only be a matter of dusting, vacuuming and washing floors.
Its nice to have extra shampoo, body wash, lotion, poufs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, on hand. Also aspirin, tylenol, band-aids, neosporin, tums or pepto bismal.
Try to keep your meals delicious, but simple so you have more time to visit.
That’s it off the top of my head. Let me know if you need anything else. And enjoy your company!
