We’re having a blog party!

Ultimate Blog Party 2009

Yep – we’re having a party! A Blog party.

What the heck is that? Well, it’s kind of like those progressive dinner parties we used to have where you would have one course at each house. You and your neighbors would hop from house to house. Except with this party, we’re hopping from blog to blog and seeing what everyone is about, getting to know new people, and making friends.

Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

It’s my first time. At least you don’t have to clean the house. I know, I know – my house is always clean. Just sayin…

And since its a mom bloggers party (sorry guys) I figured we needed a yummy indulgence – ready for this?

Berries and Ricotta Mousse

1 cup light ricotta cheese
2 Tbsp. orange liqueur
1/2 teas. finely grated orange peel
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup fresh raspberries or strawberries
1/2 cup fresh blackberries
1 teas. lemon juice
1/2 to 1 teas. sugar

Whisk together ricotta, 1 Tbsp. orange liqueur and orange peel. Cover and chill for at least an hour.

Mix berries, lemon juice and the other Tbsp. orange liqueur. Cover and let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes.

Put a scoop of the berries in a dessert dish. Top with a scoop of the ricotta. Sprinkle with a touch of sugar, or drizzle with honey. don’t worry, its healthy, and low cal! Pour yourself a glass of chilled rose’ and come back and blog away!

And since you’ll be so busy blogging – you might need some quick dinner ideas. Here’s a few –

Carribean Chicken

Bourbon and Brown Sugar Marinated Steak with Garlic Mashed

Honey-Ginger Glazed Salmon with Grilled Pineapple

Pecan Crusted Salmon

Chicken Wraps

Need more ideas? Just jump to recipes

And did I forget to mention – there’s prizes? Click on the brown banner above to be whisked away to the details –

My favorite prize pick? Definitely the HomeGoods $100 Gift Card! Oh man would I love that. Other wise, I tend to be practical – office max, amazon, and target would all be useful. I don’t have small children – so many of the prizes would not be useful here. But if you have small children there’s a lot of great prizes that I’m sure you’ll love!

Now go meet some people and have fun!

Just popping by for the party. I’m not a mom, but I’m a mom-in-waiting, so I get to come visit and make new friends too, right? I LOVE recipes on blogs and am all about cooking right now, so I am sure to be back to check out all the excitement. Berries and ricotta…yum!

Can I live in that room up there at the top? I think I’ll be hitting your blog more – I love to read about design and organization, but I’m hopeless in action ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi, there. Stopping over while blog hopping. I’m enjoying the UBP party. It’s in the wee hours of the morning but I have a migraine so can’t sleep. It’s nice to meet you and your blog. My blog list keeps growing. Blogs are my favorite “me” time. I have a toddler learing blog at http://www.superfunmama.blogspot.com. So nice to meet you!

    Hi Carolee –

You know, that was my nickname years ago because not many Carole’s spell their name with an E.

No, that is not my house. That is a free word press theme.

Thanks everyone for stopping by. I hope you’re picking up some great tips and recipes!

  9. RefreshMom

Hi Carole, thanks for stopping by RefreshMoments to join the party. Your recipes here sound awesome (I might give the pecan-crusted salmon a try this week!).

I also enjoyed your “Every Choice You Make Counts” post. It would fit right in with my “Ruby Tuesdays” event. Nice to “meet” you. Hope you’re enjoying the party and that we’ll see you around again.

    Hi Piter,

No, the blog is a way to communicate with my readers/customers/subscribers – though family and friends drop in too.

That’s OK, I can’t understand one bit of developer language ๐Ÿ˜‰
