Keep chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and tortillas make fast dinners
So how do you plan easy dinners? Its hard coming up with dinner ideas, let alone fast and easy dinner ideas.
I thought it might help you if you saw my dinner plans.
I cook Mon. thru Thurs. Friday night we usually go out. Sat. and Sun. everyone seems to go their separate ways.
Last week we had –
Mon. Chicken wraps
Tues. Pork chops, green beans, baked potato
Wed Cheeseburger, salad, watermelon
Thurs. Chicken and Potato Teriyaki, green beans
This week –
Monday we had unexpected company, so we ordered pizza. Life happens!
Tues. Mostaccioli, salad, garlic bread.
Wed. Grilled Chicken, green beans…No Wait! Change of plans. Last night Bob mentioned eating the leftovers. We have a bunch, and it was his idea. When the opportunity presents itself – take it!
Thurs. Grilled Chicken, green beans. baked potato
Loose plans for next week –
Lemon pepper chicken, steamed carrots and broccoli, buttered noodles
BBQ Chicken and Potato, green beans
Probably pork chops
Bob doesn’t eat many vegetables, so we do eat the same ones often. I’ll often add watermelon or cantaloupe.
Are these dinners 100% healthy? No. 95% would be more likely.
Are they 100% clean (no GMOs or additives)? No. I’d say around 95%.
Are they mostly healthy? Yes.
Are they fast and easy? Yes
I still fall back on prepared barbecue sauce, teriyaki sauce, and salad dressings. Even your bottled spices have additives. I use refried beans from a can, and occasionally other prepared items.. I just can’t make everything from scratch.
When you’re working, a perfect diet is very hard. The good news is, you don’t have to be perfect.
These dinners cut out most processed food and include vegetables. I guarantee that you will be healthier, have more energy, and lose weight if you start eating like this.
A serving size for most vegetables is half a cup. I serve up a cup. I’ll often add fruit and/or juice for extra servings of fruits and veggies. And by adding more fruits and vegetables, you can make your main dish go farther. That’s helpful if you have another person to feed. Monday we had 5 extra people. I was not prepared for that! But the house was clean 😉
Anyway…I hope this helps you get better at planning your own weeknight dinners. Let me know if you found this helpful. Also if have any questions, ask them in the comments.
Helpful stuff..
