I had a really interesting revelation this morning.
We all have more time than we think we do.
How did I come to this conclusion?
I put a cup of coffee in the microwave for 45 seconds. I was going to just stand there and wait. Instead I started putting clean dishes away.
I got about 2/3 of them put away. That means that putting the dishes away takes a minute. OK, maybe 2 minutes if you take your time and you have a lot of dishes.
I know that my once over on the bathroom every night takes about 2 minutes.
Yet we always tell ourselves, “oh, I don’t have time.” or “I don’t feel like doing that right now.”
2 flippin minutes.
Folding a load of laundry and putting it away takes 5 minutes.
Now here’s a crazy question –
Could you force yourself to spend a whopping 15 minutes a day, even if you didn’t feel like it?
What would happen if you spent a couple minutes here and there doing things that need to be done?
Would your house look great?
Would you end up having even more time if you weren’t dealing with piles of stuff and constantly spinning your wheels?
Would you be more calm and relaxed?
More fun to be around?
One thing I always tried to teach my daughter is – do your work first. Then you’re free to do whatever you want.
Use those minutes wisely!

I agree. Work first before anything else.
Thanks Elmer! Always good advice!
