Ah Mom. The wonder-woman who lovingly prepares delicious healthy meals and keeps the homestead a clean, healthy, nurturing environment. The woman who puts the well-being of her family above all else…
Oh, wait – its not like that anymore, is it?
These days, being a Mom doesn’t bring glory or awards for the most part, does it? As a matter of fact, now its considered demeaning work. Sometimes you just trudge through the daily chaos feeling like a doormat. You don’t feel like cooking a great meal, or cleaning the house.
And you don’t think anyone appreciates it if you do.
You couldn’t be more wrong.
Do You Realize That You Hold the Power to Change the World?
Imagine if every mother in the world only fed her family healthy natural food…
- There would be no obesity
- Diabetes would go back to being an ‘old people’ disease.
- People wouldn’t be on blood pressure medications in their 20s.
- Cancer would be rare.
- There would be no health care crisis.
- Kids would be healthy and smart
- Kids would have the energy that kids are supposed to have
- Kids wouldn’t have so many behavior and attention problems
- Life savings wouldn’t have to be spent on medical care
- Husbands would be sexier and have more energy and stamina
(So will you, but you get what I mean – right?)
When Mama’s Not Happy, No One’s Happy
You need to be on top of your game everyday. Life is really tough when you feel sluggish, your joints hurt, or you can’t breath, or you’re depressed. You can’t take care of anyone else well if you don’t have health and tons of energy.
When you’re feeling good, life is good for everyone around you.
Imagine getting up, feeling rested, full of energy, and looking great. How much better would your day be? How about if you never ever had to worry about your weight again?
A healthy diet will do that for you.
It doesn’t matter what conditions you are suffering from. A healthy diet can make it better.
Did you know that they have found a nutritional deficiency tied to almost every disease?
Read that again and let it sink in.
Did you know that for the first time in history, our children are expected to have a shorter lifespan than their parents? Are you finally ready to quit eating the garbage that’s keeping you fat, making your sick, and shortening lives?
Who has time to cook everyday?
Are you thinking that it takes too much time and effort to create healthy meals that your family would actually eat? It’s not hard at all. That’s exactly why I created Rebel With a Fork.
I’ve discovered hundreds of ways to put delicious healthy meals on the table fast!
And there’s hundreds of recipes so simple that even a Dad can make them 😉
Or a teen
That’s one of the best gifts we can give our kids, don’t you think? Teaching them how to cook healthy meals will help them live a longer, healthier, and happier life. My daughter is one of the reasons I created that site.
The other reason is – to help you
I’ve been through –
- Chronic allergy and sinus problems,
- Monthly migraines,
- Bad knees,
- Baby weight that wouldn’t go away,
- Depression,
- Lack of energy
- High blood pressure
None of that was fun. But l figured it was just part of life. I knew a little about eating healthy, but I didn’t realize the true power.
I knew things had to change when my premature daughter was born.
I wanted to give my daughter the best shot possible at a normal healthy life. When I focused on feeding us healthy – all my other problems went away, along with all the weight, and my daughter got stronger with each passing year.
It wasn’t always easy
When she was young, I became a single mom, working in the corporate world. Like you, I relied on a lot of ‘convenience’ foods. She was sick so much! Constant colds, allergies, respiratory problems. She was missing a ton of school, and I was having a heck of a time juggling a sick kid and a job.
Then things got even worse. I got laid off.
I couldn’t afford even over the counter medications, let alone doctor visits and prescriptions. And my health was getting worse.
Our only hope for survival was getting back to a healthy diet.
At almost 54 years old, I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m the same size I was in high school, and I still take no meds. Any my daughter sailed through winter without getting sick. I’m really proud of her. At an age when most kids are eating junk, she chooses to eat healthy.
But doesn’t it cost more to eat healthy?
You might have bought into that, but if a head of green leaf lettuce costs $1.99, and a bag of chips costs $3.99…
Dinner off the dollar menu is going to cost at least $3 per person – the burger, the fries, and a drink, right?
For $3 per person, you can put out a great dinner.
I don’t believe in a perfect diet. It’s nearly impossible. But your diet can be ‘good enough’ and still deliver great results.
- You don’t have to be perfect
- You don’t have to give up meat
- You don’t have to give up dessert
But you do need to learn to eat things the right way. There are 19,700.000 websites about healthy eating. I personally feel that Rebel With a Fork is the fastest, easiest reference and has the best fastest recipes – but I’m biased. You have over 19 million other sites to choose from. You can find the help you need to make fresh healthy meals faster than you can imagine. This is our most important job. We must do something to stop the health crisis we have on our hands.
You’ll be surprised to learn that most of the behavior and learning problems kids have disappear when they eat a fresh, healthy, balanced diet. You’ll all feel better, think better, feel calmer, and have more energy to enjoy life.
Being a Great Mom is not demeaning work. Don’t ever think that for a minute. And while our family may not always show it, they do respect and admire you for the loving way that you take care of your family. Its the moms that don’t do these things for their family that get no respect. But if you’re on this blog, I’m sure that doesn’t apply to you.
Moms have always had the power to shape the world. They always will. Don’t ever forget –
You are the best!
Happy Mother’s Day!
