It seems early to start planning Thanksgiving Dinner, doesn’t it? But there is a lot you can get done now that will make that last week a whole lot easier!
This week you should have –
- Verified your guest list
- Planned your menu
- Made your shopping lists
- Started buying non-perishable items. By the last week you should only have fresh foods left to buy. It is easier financially to buy a little at a time, especially when its on sale. You’ll have a lot less stress.
Examples of things you can buy now –
- Foil
- Napkins
- Wine/beverages
- Pans – I use a disposable pan for the turkey.
- Marshmallows, flour, sugar, spices, etc.
- Butter
You should have checked your glassware, flatware, dishes, linens
Make sure to have aspirin, tums, extra toothpaste and toothbrushes, and plenty of clean sheets and towels – just in case.
Start ‘deep cleaning’ your house now so you just have maintenance cleaning that last week. Vacuum all of the corners, crevices, and cushions. Get things polished up. Clean pictures, window sills, etc.
Little things now will make your life easier later, and you’ll be able to enjoy your holiday!
Get your home in shape, and be able to keep it that way…
