Thanksgiving Dinner is almost here

Are you having heart attacks yet over your Thanksgiving Dinner?

I lucked out and I’m off Wednesday. I can finish up the housecleaning, bake the pumpkin pies, and probably pumkin bread, get the table leaves in, dishes washed…

I’ll probably buy the rest of the fresh stuff on Tuesday before I head into work. Beat the crowd you know.

I have more people coming, so I have to borrow some chairs. I don’t have 15 wine glasses either. hmmmm

I probably could have gotten more done tonight, but it was 58 degrees outside tonight. That isn’t going to happen again for a long time – so I took a walk. There’s snow in the forecast for Wednesday…

My only real problem is the wine. Can anyone recommend a good cheap wine?

I hope your preparations are going smoothly.

This working for a living really gets in the way of life, doesn’t it? 😉

#1 – I usually ask everyone to bring their favorite wine. This way we get to try different ones, while munching on appetizers, waiting for dinner.

#2 – My favorite wine for Thanksgiving is Sauvignon Blanc by Honig. It’s around $15. It is a good dinner wine, and goes really well with sweet potatoes, dressing and turkey, and cranberry sauce.

#3 – If I’m buying all the wine, I go with Beringer label for serving a lot of people because it is a good all around wine and most people like it; plus, it is usually under $10 a bottle. My sister turned me on to the label. This is the only wine she buys, and she can afford any of them.

This is my 3rd year for “your” turkey at our holiday. I now cook turkeys year round, because I don’t have to baby them along in the cooking process anymore.

Thank you for all you do. Have a great Thanksgiving and wish your daughter Happy Birthday for me. -Carol

    Hi Carol,

Thanks so much for the wine suggestions. I really appreciate it!

I can’t wait for that turkey… You’re still making it too! It’s so easy, and so good. But I still only make 1 or 2 a year. Most of the time I make stuff that can be on the table fast!

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving Holiday. Are you doing your traditional Black Friday shopping?
