I was at a meeting today and again, my point was proven.
The skinny people ate a good lunch.
The heavier people didn’t.
That doesn’t seem to make sense, does it? But I see it all the time.
I offered the girl next to me some of my lunch – which she glady accepted. She said she was going out for dinner tonight, so she didn’t want to eat too much.
So many people seem to believe that if you only eat one meal, that you’ll lose weight. I absolutely guarantee you won’t.
People think that skinny people can eat what ever they want, and that’s true to an extent. But it’s what they eat, when they eat, and how they compensate for those ‘dinners out’ that makes all the difference.
In other words, if a skinny person started eating like a fat person, even thought it would probably not be any more calories than they normally eat, they would get fat. Am I making sense here?
So say you want to lose weight. Starting tomorrow – eat 3 full meals and 2 snacks throughout the day. That’s right. Eat 5 times a day. You will change how your metabolism burns the food.
OK, one bit about calories. You can’t eat 1000 or more calories at every sitting. That’s just common sense, right? I’m not telling you to load up on fast food 3 times a day and eat hostess cupcakes for snacks. A snack can be fruit, or yogurt, or baked crackers and cheese, or peanut butter…
Oh sure, there’s more to it than just that. But I can’t put the whole book up here on the blog.
Head over to the Rebel With a Fork Blog and Grab a copy of the new Skinny Living Handbook and get all the tips you’ll ever need to live like a skinny person.
I try lot of things, when i was try to lose weight, but the thing that really work for me was a combination of 3 to 4 times a week sport for 30 min to 1 hour, the use of Dietitian supervised diet and a very strong will power! diet is a way of life.Good Luck,Sigal.
Of course, there are lots of thin people that eat a lot of food and do not deserve to be skinny. They just won the genetic lottery. I see plenty of thin people in my office who chow down on cheeseburgers while less thin co-workers munch on almonds and fat-free yogurt. What can I say? Life’s not fair.
You know, it sure seems like that sometimes, doesn’t it? It used to drive me nuts trying to figure out why the girl who swore to me that she eats lots of salad, and doesn’t seem to eat much was almost 300 pounds. Or how skinny girls who seem to eat anything they want and not gain weight. It didn’t make sense.

It’s genetics, for the most part. I’m ectomorph/skinny (somatotype) and I can eat as much food as I like and struggle to gain weight. But, I do tend to eat healthy, non-drinker/smoker rather than fast/junk food all the time (listen to your body, it doesn’t feel good after that trash the evil corporation is selling your tastebuds). There’s a saying ‘What you put in, you get out’, I believe this accounts for most areas of our lives.
I am an ectomorph and I can eat up to 8 times per day. The good thing is, I do not gain fat at all =)

I’ve always eaten a lot, but I don’t eat packaged foods. I weighed substantially more when I drank. Even if you are naturally thin, you still have to watch out for health issues if you are not eating healthy.
Liz, it may seem like those people at work eat all they want all of the time. You don’t know what they do when they get home. They may not eat anymore for the day. There’s almost always more to it than what meets the eye.

Great Post – it’s always important to know what body type you have before you jump into any rampant eating patterns. Skinny People (ectomorphs) always have a little more room than the rest of us 🙂
