If you’ve read any of my posts, you know that I’m all about planning. Well, here are some tips you can implement over the next few days to counteract all the “stuffing” we will be doing during the holidays…
The first thing to bear in mind is that if you eat relatively healthy most of the time, you really don’t even need to worry about a holiday dinner here and there. That should really be your goal. Wouldn’t that be nice to not worry about every bite you’re putting in your mouth and be able to just enjoy food the way it is meant to be enjoyed? You can run through the articles here to learn the basics of healthy eating.
One of the quickest ways to lose weight is cut out the bad carbs. Think gluten, sugar, fat, and sodium. Over the next few days leading up to the big dinner, try to eat mostly vegetables and lean meat. The other advantage to eating like this is that its really fast! We sure don’t need a lot of extra work right now. This truly is how we eat most of the time. This is how come I am too thin, and my daughter lost her weight.
Get enough sleep. When you are tired, your body needs more fuel. And what kind of food does it crave? Carbs.
Carbs produce energy, except when you don’t burn them. Then they are stored as fat. Hmmm, we came full circle on that, didn’t we?
Drop the pop. It is one of the worst things you can put in your body. Doesn’t matter if its diet or regular. Actually, diet is far worse for you. Instead, drink water, water with lemon or cucumber, juices (without corn syrup), tea, lemonade, tea and lemonade, wine, or coffee.
If you follow this plan, you might even find that you’re not interested in stuffing yourself silly.
We’ll talk more about how to eat on the big day in a couple of days.
