You can put out a great Thanksgiving Dinner, even if you have kids and 2 jobs.

Yes you can, don’t roll your eyes!

Its been crazy here. Bob has been in and out of the hospital.

The dining room still is not done.

Last week I was gone all week house and dog sitting for the boxers.

This week I’m dog sitting for my daughter’s dog.

My sister’s right hand girl just up and left the state with no notice, so I’m working a lot more hours.

Whole Life Overhaul is keeping me hopping lately…

Am I stressed?

Not about Thanksgiving. I have a plan…

Just like the other lessons at CommonSenseLiving, this is a great plan that breaks things down into tiny little tasks will get you through with some hair left on your head.

So what can you do this week to make your Thanksgiving Dinner great?

1. Plan how many guests, and if you need to sleep anyone.

2. Plan your menu.

3. Do a thorough housecleaning.

4. Wash all linens and towels just in case you end up with overnight guests.

5. Buy all of the non-perishables now.

6. If there are any foods you need to special order, do it now.

If you do these few simple things now, while it’s still relatively quiet – you’ll be amazed at how much easier it will be.

Take it from me. I’ve been doing this for almost 30 years.

It has shopping lists, housecleaning tips, recipes, checklists, and a blow by blow plan for getting that great dinner on the table in grand style. Really. It’s not as hard as you think when you have a great plan! It’s my favorite meal of the year.

    Dear Carole.
I love all your tips for getting the holidays together! I have had a copy of your great little book For a couple of years now, and I really like the way that you talk me through my to-do lists for the holidays. It is as if I am having a conversation with you. You make it all so easy! I love your book, “Secret Confessions of a Clean Freak” which helps me keep everything nice at home, and the recipes on your website give me new healthy eating ideas.
I would be interested to find out more about your One Day House Cleaning Intensive. I ‘m pretty sure I will have guests over for the weekend very soon. Thanks for all your useful tips Carole.

Oh, Thank you so much Fiona!

I hope things are quiet in your corner of the world and that you and your family are doing well,

The one day cleaning intensive is a fairly new add on. So many new people have put things off until the last minute and have to get the house clean for company, so I put together a one day intensive you can use to at least get the house presentable, and then they can use Secret Confessions of a Clean Freak to maintain it. I’ll send you a copy.
