This is a great meatless meal. With 15 grams of protein per cup, navy beans are one of the best sources of plant-based proteins you can eat. Navy beans contain several vitamins and minerals but are especially high in folate, iron, selenium, and magnesium.
1 -19 oz. can cannelloni beans or 1 -16 oz. can great northern beans or navy beans, rinsed and drained.
1- 14.5 oz. can Italian style stewed tomatoes
1 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
1 teaspoon snipped fresh rosemary or teaspoon dried rosemary
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
Cracked black pepper
In a large saucepan, combine beans, undrained tomatoes, vinegar, rosemary and red pepper.
Heat to boiling.
Top with fresh ground black pepper if desired.
Serve with a tossed salad and/or cornbread or garlic bread.
