There’s always another ad for a miracle product that will make you thin with no effort. After decades of these wonder products, there is no decrease in obesity and illnesses are sky-rocketing.
Then you have the opposite extreme – vegan, raw foods, and other icky sounding stuff.
The amazing truth is that once you learn simple secrets to living and eating healthy, you can enjoy eating again and not worry about your weight and cut your risk of disease.
Here’s a few simple rules. Make them your way of life.
Eat your 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday.
Even if you change nothing else, this one tip will help you lose some weight and feel better.
Do not eat packaged foods.
Everything packaged, processed, instant, or microwaveable, all have to contain chemicals to increase shelf life. If they do have any nutrient value, it’s been added. Lab created food doesn’t naturally contain vitamins, does it?
There are hundreds of fast easy recipes here for you.
Stay out of the drive thru lane.
Have dinner planned the night before, or at least before you leave for work. When we have something planned and thawed, we are more likely to come home and cook it.
Don’t drink pop.
Pop again is full of chemicals, and has the added benefits of corn syrup or artificial sweeteners – and either one is bad.
I’ve heard it said that a can of pop a day equals 10 pounds a year
Lab foods are designed to make you want more.
I know, you think you can’t live without these staples in your life. Once your tastebuds recover, you won’t like the taste anymore. Your body was never meant to ingest these fake ‘foods’ in the first place. Is it any wonder that obesity and disease has skyrocketed?
Save time by shopping only the outer perimeter of the store.
You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can get in and out of the grocery store when you no longer have to go up and down all the aisles! You’ll also find that you’re spending less money.
Eat all day.
That has always been the secret of thin people. It seems like they’re always eating, doesn’t it? They are. That’s what keeps them thin. Their bodies are trained to burn the food as they eat it. It’s not stored as fat.
People make the mistake of thinking if they don’t eat all day they can load up at night, when they’re not going to do anything to burn it off. Its when they sit around watching TV, and then go to bed.
Stop eating a few hours before bed when you are not going to be burning it up.
Stay hydrated.
Drink enough water to keep your organs functioning their best and your system flushed. Sometimes when you think you’re hungry, you’re really dehydrated.
Divide your weight by 2. That is how many ounces of water you should be drinking for your body size.
Get enough sleep
Have you ever noticed that when you’re tired, you grab anything to shove in your face trying to get some energy? Its when our sugar cravings are the worst.
And we always think we’re being productive and getting that one more thing done. Except it takes us 3 times longer.
Just get to bed on time. Your life will be so much better for it.
Move More
Take a walk after dinner. That’s my favorite.
Or you can do a class, or go to the gym, or find a workout on YouTube, or yoga, or dance, or golf, or whatever it is you like to do that gets that body moving.
You don’t have to be a freak
You don’t have to eat tofu, kale and salmon. Yes, you need to eat more vegetables, but you can have a good pizza made with real ingredients. You can make a cheeseburger with lean ground beef. Just eat real food.
You don’t have to be a gym rat. I know a lot of people who have lost weight just by eating better and taking a walk.
Now, what will you do with all the money you’ll save on diet products, prescription drugs, and medical care? I guess you’ll have to buy new clothes that fit 😉
