Summer Dinners easy as 1-2-3


Its summer. Who wants to spend time in the kitchen cooking? I sure don’t! I probably won’t turn my oven on until September.

Fortunately, summer eating is easy. Here are some ideas that will make endless combinations in little time, and without heating up the kitchen.

Summer Dinners, 1-2-3. Choose 1 from each category.

1. Meat, poultry…

Stove top

  • Chicken
  • Fish
  • Hamburger
  • Tacos

or Grill

  • Chicken
  • Fish
  • Steak
  • Hamburger
  • Sausages

2. Veggies

  • Coleslaw
  • Tossed Salad
  • Green Beans
  • Broccoli
  • Veggie tray
  • Green peppers & onions
  • Sliced tomato
  • Tomato and cucumber salad
  • Corn on the cob

3. Sides

  • Potato Salad
  • Baked Potato
  • Pasta Salad
  • Baked Beans
  • Refried Beans
  • Fruit

You can put together endless combinations.

For example –

Lemon Pepper Chicken with steamed broccoli and buttered noodles.

Barbecue Chicken with baked beans and green beans.

Italian Sausage with green peppers and onions, and potato salad.

Cheeseburgers with pasta salad and a veggie tray.

Shish Kabobs made in a grill basket – (no skewers) –

Steak, tossed salad and baked potato.

You can add nice cold fruit to any of these for a bit of sweetness.
