Rice Au Gratin

cheesy rice

 

3 cups hot cooked rice

1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese

3 tablespoons butter

2 slices bread, crumbled

 

Toss cooked rice with 1 cup cheese.

Spoon into greased baking dish.

Top with remaining cheese

Bake at 350°F for 10 – 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

Meanwhile, melt butter. Add breadcrumbs. Brown lightly.

Remove rice from oven. Sprinkle with browned breadcrumbs.

For different flavors, you can season breadcrumbs with garlic or curry. You can throw in some broccoli.

Makes 6 servings
