1 cup vinegar (I prefer rice vinegar â€“ its smoother with not as sharp a bite)
Â½ cup olive oil
Â½ cup pure cane sugar
Â¼ cup finely chopped onion**
Â½ teaspoon salt
Â¼ teaspoon paprika
Â¼ teaspoon ground mustard
Fresh ground black pepper to taste
Put all ingredients in a jar with a tight fitting lid.
Store leftovers in refrigerator.
Makes 2 Â½ cups.
** What type of onion should you use?
Green onion will give you more kick.
Red will give a little heat and a little sweet
Videlia will give you a sweeter flavor
Yellow or Spanish will give you more of a traditional onion flavor
