Keeping the house clean thru the holidays

There’s decorations all over the place.

You’re so busy, you feel like you’re running around like a chicken with your head cut off.

How the heck are you going to keep the house clean? You can’t just let it go – people can stop over at any time.

Relax. You’ve got this!

Here’s how to keep things looking good in just a few minutes here and there…

Clean up after dinner every night. Counters, stove, the whole shabang. When you do it every night, it only takes a few minutes. You already do this, right?

Keep things picked up. When you use something, put it away

Do a load of laundry all the way through and put away daily.

Wipe down the bathrooms daily. Again, when you do it daily, it only takes a few minutes.

Use a good feather duster to dust. It will work great around the decorations – just don’t be too aggressive. You don’t want to mess up or break your decorations.

Vacuum and wash floors as needed.

If you keep up with these few things, your home will look pretty good the whole month through.

The biggest challenge will be keeping Santa’s workshop contained…

Time Savers –

This one is my favorite –

The feather duster is the fastest way to do a quick dusting. I know they say that the feather duster just spreads the dust. I’ve tried the damp microfiber cloth, the swiffer duster, and really I prefer the feather duster for a quick dusting.

The Libman feather dusters hold up really well. I’ve used them for years.

The Libman feather duster is cheaper at Amazon. (affiliate link)

vacuum mop

I bought the Tineco vacuum mop for some friends a couple of years ago. They have mostly wood floors, and at the time had 2 dogs and 2 kids. The mop did a nice job. You really needed to vacuum first. The vacuum could not handle the large amount of dirt and dog hair, and the charge would not last long enough to do all of their floors. But the real reason for getting it was for the great job it did mopping when you use the cleaner that came with it. Plus, it was cheaper than the Bissell. https://walmrt.us/49rUXRl

Time and money saving tip – you can order all of your non-perishables from Walmart and pick them up for free on orders over $35. Or you can join Walmart+ and have them delivered. I’ve gotten spoiled with this service. That’s why I’m a Walmart Partner.
