Headaches
Did you know that something as simple as being dehyrated can cause headaches? Try drinking water first.
Other things that can cause headaches are – a lack of fiber, B Vitamins, Vitamin E, Magnesium, or calcium, eye strain, and high blood pressure.
When I was much younger, I had monthly headaches. A kindly pharmacist told me to take 400 iu of Vitamin E every day. That was it. No more monthly headaches. He explained that the arteries in your neck can get contricted and cause headaches. The Vitamin E keeps the veins and arteries flexible and flowing. Worked for me!
Another great remedy is ice. Lay down with either a very cold wash cloth, or an ice pack wrapped in a towel (you don’t want the ice directly on your skin), or a package of frozen corn or peas works too. Place the cold on your forehead, close your eyes and relax for 15 minutes or so.
My daughter used to get bad headaches when she played video games too long. The ice pack worked.
If it’s a tension headache coming up from your neck and shoulders, a massager will help ease the tightness and relieve the headache.
Breathing exercises can help relieve headaches too. These exercises help get more oxygen to your brain (& body too). It’s a good idea to do breathing exercises everyday anyway 😉
If you suddenly develop bad headaches, or headaches that don’t go away, please see your doctor right away.
