Fresh Cranberry Sauce

This is pretty simple. I keep cranberries in the freezer so I can make this through the year.

 

1 cup water

1 cup sugar

1 12-oz. package frozen cranberries, thawed, rinsed, and drained

 

Bring water and sugar to boil in a medium pan.

Add cranberries and return to boil.

Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

You can leave the berries whole, or smash cranberries with the back of a wooden spoon.

Cool completely at room temperature.

Refrigerate until serving.

Makes 2 ¼ cups
