Cream of Tomato Soup


Yes! From scratch. Not from some goop in a can.

And this recipe is pretty simple.


1 15 oz. can tomatoes

2 Tablespoons butter

1/4 cup flour

2 cups milk

salt and pepper


Blend tomatoes until smooth in a blender or food processor.

In a medium pot, melt the butter over medium heat.

Whisk in teh flour until smooth.

Slowly add half the milk, whisking to keep it smooth.

Slowly add the rest of the milk, still whisking.

Continue to heat and whisk until it thickens.

Add tomatoes and whisk to mix.

Let soup heat and thicken.

If its to thick, add more milk.

Season with salt and pepper.



You know its best with a grilled cheese sandwich to dip!

This will make about 3-4 cups, or 2 bowls. Recipe doubles well.
