Chapped Lips

sooth chapped lips

Yep, even chapped lips could be a sign of nutritional deficiency- B vitamins, iron or zinc deficiencies could be a cause. Along with mouth breathing, and dry air. Make sure you are getting enough healthy oils and staying well hydrated.

According to Ayurveda – a natural healing system from India, the best way to hydrate skin is by sipping warm water every 10 minutes throughout the day. I leave a glass of water on the table and sip throughout the day.

How much water do you need?

The formula I’ve followed is taking your weight and dividing it by 2. That is how many ounces of water you should drink every day.

You can use cocoa butter instead of chemical laden lip products to soothe dry chapped lips.

We live in northern Illinois where the winters are especially harsh. I use  plain old Carmex in the little jar at night. Its kind of a pain to use the little pot during the day. It also works to keep cuticles moisturized.

Consider using a humidifier.

Practice correct breathing, breathing in through your mouth.

Happy Kissing!

Time and money saving tip – you can order all of your non-perishables from Walmart and pick them up for free on orders over $35. Or you can join Walmart+ and have them delivered. They now deliver your prescriptions too. I’ve gotten spoiled with this service. That’s why I’m a Walmart Partner.
