OK, I’ve known that people do this when making lemonade, but I never thought it would make much difference. I was wrong…
I always make the Real Lemon lemonade. My grandmother always made it and I just carried on.
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup lemon juice
- Fill with cold water to make 2 quarts.
Stupid simple. No chemicals or artificial sweeteners.
But last week I see a neighbor walking down the hall with a pitcher. She said that another neighbor makes great iced tea. He boils the sugar first.
Now I’ve seen recipes calling for making simple syrup first, but I never thought it would make that much difference.
You just take the cup of sugar and a cup of water and simmer until the sugar is dissolved.
Let it cool.
Put it in the pitcher, add the cup of lemon juice, and fill with cold water to make 2 quarts. Same principle for making sweet ice tea.
It makes a big difference! I couldn’t believe it.
Try it!
