Baked Whitefish with Green Peppers and Garlic
2 lemons, sliced thin
1 ½ – 2 lbs. Whitefish fillets
1 large green pepper, cut into thin rings
2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
¼ teaspoon thyme, preferably fresh
¼ cup Rhine wine
2 – 3 tablespoons olive oil
Salt
White Pepper
In a shallow baking dish, place fish fillets in rows.
Top with pepper slices.
Sprinkle with garlic and thyme. Pour wine evenly over the fish,
Then drizzle the oil over the fish.
Salt & pepper to taste.
Bake in preheated 375° F – oven for 20 – 25 minutes or until fish is cooked through.
Meanwhile, for an attractive presentation, line one side of a platter with lemon slices, overlapping. Line the other half with tomato slices.
When fish is baked, neatly place fish on top of lemon and tomato slices.
