Get your shine on
Shiny and clean is always bright and cheery. Polish wood, glass, stove, refridgerator, microwave, mirrors, bath walls, fixtures… anything you can find that will shine. I lemon oil my cabinets every couple months.
Let the sun in
Clean the windows. Nothing will brighten up your home faster – and it feels so good to sit down with a cup of coffee and gaze out the window.
Colorize!
A colorful vase full of colorful flowers will brighten a room fast. Fresh smells great. Silk never dies. Take your pick.
Add colorful pillows, or placemats, or tablecovers, or napkins, or towels. No matter what your color scheme, you can find a bright accent that will match. Pick from orange, turquoise, lime green, red, purple, bright pink or yellow. Just a few pieces just to accent – not to overwhelm!
