If you’ve been a reader here for any length of time, you know I love my after dinner walks. Well… when its nice out. I had my daughter’s dog again last week. We explored all sorts of twists, turns, nooks and crannies in the new neighborhood…

This neighborhood is not as social as my old neighborhood, so that’s been sort of a bummer. It takes a little more fortitude to get me motivated to walk. I’ve been considering getting another dog because it forces me to walk every day.

After listening to this podcast, I am more determined to get back in the habit-

Better health and energy, lose weight, clear your head – and it costs nothing except some time. I don’t try to do a marathon. Just a mile or two depending on how much time I have. It takes about 20 minutes to walk a mile at a normal pace.

My sister and her boyfriend lost a ton of weight after they got their dog. Years ago when I worked at the mall, there was a little lady that would walk every morning. I didn’t see her for a while. I was worried that something might have happened to her. She said she had to quit walking so much because she had lost too much weight. Even my sister had made a similar comment. Can you imagine having to worry about being too thin?

I did install a pedometer on my phone, but I don’t carry my phone most of the time. I refuse to be attached to this thing. If you’re having trouble getting things done – leave the phone! Seriously. It is such a time suck.

Do you walk? After hearing this podcast, will you start walking?
