The Menu Mom has been trying to adopt a child from Russia for a while now. You can read her heart felt posts at The Menu Mom blog.
It seems that the biggest stumbling block is money – “We still need $25,514 to get him home, but the immediate need is $5514. What do you say? Can you help me make this goal by my birthday – Aug.9th?”
Here’s the thing – if all of her readers, and all of my readers were to donate just $1, she would have that money 2 or 3 times over.
Another way you can help is by visiting her page, and clicking on the big Bring Igor Home ad for Amazon. If you are going to buy anything at Amazon in the near future, it won’t cost you a cent more to buy through her link, yet she gets paid a commission. Cool, right?
Thanks!
Here’s a note that I received from Christine this morning –
“Our hearts are so grateful this morning. It has been so fun to show my kids that God provides for our needs.
I of course want to say “Thank You” but I wish there was a way for you to step into our hearts and understand what this truly means to us. “Thank You” doesn’t seem to be sufficient.
As of right now, 124 of you have come together both big and small to contribute $1877 towards bringing Igor home. Thank you so much! We have $3773 to go to make it to $10,500 on our donation counter (http://www.youcaring.com/adoption-fundraiser/bringing-igor-home-forever/39937) which will cover our home study, placement agency, I600A, and Dossier fees that are all due within the next month or so. The goal is to make it to this goal by Aug. 9th (my birthday). If you are able to help with $1 or more, it would be so appreciated. There is also a Facebook Event set up to help spread the word. You can find that here: https://www.facebook.com/events/208555445966025/
On a different note, this morning we received news from New Horizons for Children, that someone anonymously paid for Igor’s hosting fees in full ($2950) to allow him to come for Christmas. If that was you, and you are reading this… I honestly don’t know how to express to you how much this has blessed Igor and our family. Thank you.
