Busy Life Challenge – How to keep the kitchen clean

A small, modern kitchen with popular stainless...

Between working, shopping, family needs, and bad weather – keeping your home presentable can seem impossible.

Here’s how I keep my kitchen clean in just a few extra minutes –

Don’t ignore this because its so simple!

Every night when you clean up the dishes, always wipe up the stove. Its so much easier when you get the splatters when they are fresh. Check the range hood too. Then, do one extra thing from the following list each night.

  • Wipe out the microwave. Put a cup of water in the microwave on high for 2 minutes. Wait a few seconds before removing it. The microwave will wipe clean easily.
  • Wipe down the fridge.
  • Wipe down the counters. Move everything, wipe under and behind.
  • Wipe down your cabinets with a little Murphy’s oil soap.
  • Wipe down the garbage can. I usually do this when I’m washing the floor.

Ok, finish up each night by cleaning up the sink.

There. Now your kitchen is clean all of the time! Wasn’t that easy?

Common Sense Lesson –

Don’t let things build up in the first place.

Cleaning the whole house can be that easy…

Simplify things to keep life simple is the way to go Carole! I like the motivation that you share here, making an everyday task that little bit easier. Sometimes when we have had a busy day, just a few moments every day, little and often can help us score a dreaded cleaning task off the to-do list, avoiding it taking a whole hour of our time to do each week.
Thank you for helping make a difference at home.

Simple tips but very important. Thanks for sharing this. It is also important to declutter things at home specially in the kitchen. Use your storage spaces to store items that aren’t useful anymore or maybe sell them.
