Sorry I haven’t written much lately. So I thought I’d write a quick note about just stuff.
My step father died 2 weeks ago. I didn’t really know him as an adult, but I wanted to support my sister.
Did I ever tell you that I have 2 half sisters that are both named Debbie? Weird, right?
My Dad has Alzheimer’s. He has changed so much in a short time. His mother had it, and her father had it. So in 20 or so years, we’ll know for sure if my healthy diet will really help. I skated through menopause…
Speaking of healthy diets, Jamie Oliver has taken his food revolution to the next level. He’s the one who has been fighting to get a school district in Huntington West Virginia to serve fresh foods in the schools. He has now put together a petition to take to Washington D.C. Yes, another petition – and it would be great if you took 30 seconds to sign it –

Dick Biondi has been on the radio for 50 years! Incredible. I remember listening to him on my transistor radio as far away as Arkansas when we would be there for summer vacation. I would say I’ve listened to him for about 42 of those years.

Such drama in advertising. There have been some really heart wrenching ads for OnStar lately. I’m thinking they may have gotten some complaints. One of the ads was toned down considerably.
There’s also a dramatic ad being run by the State of Illinois for getting vaccinated for H1N1. Isn’t that fiasco over? Guess they have the stockpile to get rid of somehow.

There’s this saying that is spewed on the Internet –
“You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it going.”
I’m sorry. If you don’t have time to do it right the first time, you certainly don’t have time to do it over again.
I have about 200 more pages to clean up at Rebel With a Fork. When I first started the site, I was struggling with the new software and threw up a few hundred pages to get it going. Now I have to go back and clean them up. UGH! It’s taking forever! I wish I could afford to hire it out. It’s really tedious.

Speaking of my Dad – My Dad and Step Mom came down and took me to Golden Coral for dinner. We all love that place. I can create a salad of my dreams with all kinds of stuff. My Dad makes a pretty good creation too.
Then it’s on to the Bourbon Chicken, Steak, and some sweet potatoes for plate #2. Plate # 3 is banana pudding, and bread pudding.
Yes, I was in a food coma. I’m glad I don’t do that very often.
Now I’ve been on a new salad kick. I’ve been throwing Craisins and Walnuts on my salad with a red wine vinnaigrette dressing. Yum!

My daughter had senior prom last weekend. She looked beautiful. The end of an era…
Well, I think I’ve rambled myself out. It’s late and I need to hit the sack.
I hope you have a great week!
