I know – its a strange thing to get excited about, right?
I’m at the point where I want to get the bathroom ready for painting. Its going to be the hardest project, and its the one that disgusts me the most – so I want to tackle it and get it done!
I’ve already washed the walls down, dousing them in Clorox Clean Up and scrubbing. While there has been massive improvement, not all of the black is gone. It hasn’t been increasing, and I was sure that it had to be dead, but I wasn’t sure what would happen if I painted over it.
I was at the store to buy more Clean Up and some super soap scum remover. Yeah, 2 different problems requiring 2 different cleaners, which also means I can only work on one at a time so I don’t accidentally mix the cleaners and gas myself.
So, I’m standing there staring at all the bottles hoping for a miracle – when a new bottle caught my eye.
Kaboom Mold and Mildew Stain Remover. Wait, mold and mildew stains? Hmmmm…
So I bought it.
I immediately had to try it on a spot. I did about a 3 foot section. Man, this stuff is amazing! But breathing it for long will kill you. It is really strong!
I don’t have a whole day to devote to this right now, so I’ll keep chipping away at it a little at a time, but I am so relieved that it will be a lot easier now.
Then there’s the holes to patch, priming, cabinet and medicine cabinet to be painted, and finally painting. Oh, and replacing the light bar and towel bars. Sigh… long way to go …
One miracle at a time, right?
At least the house overall is staying clean. The every day stuff, dusting, keeping things wiped down and picked up is a piece of cake. Dealing with years of neglect, and some really bad decorating is going to take a lot of time and patience.
