I Hate Spring!

That’s right. You read that right. I hate spring.

It’s a tease.

You look out your window at the sunlight, budding trees and flowers, and you want to get out there and work in the soil. But you better not! There will be another freeze.

Besides, its still too cool to be outside comfortably. You still need jackets, and if its after dark, you still need your winter coat and hat.

Actually, you need 3 seasons of clothes readily available on any given day. You might need a tank top and shorts in the afternoon, and your winter coat that night.

I would love to clean the carpets, but the April showers are just starting, which means there’s a good chance it will still be cold and rainy for Memorial Day weekend. We’re still in for a lot of mud.

I just want it to be 80 degrees.

But there is one great thing about spring. Its a reminder that summer is coming, and you still have time to get it together so you can enjoy the summer.

You can get on a good housecleaning system so you don’t have to spend your weekends indoors cleaning house.

You can lose 10 or maybe even 20 pounds before swimsuit season by eating right. And you’ll have a lot more energy to do more this summer.

You can buckle down and get more work done now so you’ll have more time to do what you want to do. That’s my plan for the next few weeks. No one will see much of me.

I’m so looking forward to gardening, and being in the water, and festivals, and cookouts, but in the meantime – there’s a lot of work to get done!

    Carole,

This past week I have delighted in the warmer weather and being able to take walks easily again without my winter jacket on. It did rain heavily once, but I know we need the water so that was ok too.

This morning I woke up to find we are having a snowstorm. It’s freezing cold again and worse, the wind is blowing it so it looks like a blizzard. We call it Springtime in the Rockies.

I like the warm days that show summer, my favorite time of year, and autumn, my second-favorite, is coming. I don’t like these crazy, wet, dangerous-to-drive -in storms that we have in spring. Today I am staying inside bundled up to keep warm so that the heat doesn’t have to keep coming on all day.
