I hear this all the time – “I don’t feel like it”…
I don’t feel like making dinner.
I don’t feel like doing the dishes, cleaning the bath, doing the laundry…. etc.
I don’t feel like studying
I don’t feel like exercising
And you know what? I don’t feel like it either…
But I do want to live in a healthy body and a clean and comfortable home. I do want to improve my life.
And if I’m going to live 80 or 90 yeas, I want to live. I don’t want to be a withering soul – just existing until I can finally die.
So I try to do what I need to do – even if I don’t feel like it.
You don’t feel like going to work every day, do you? But you do it because you like to eat and you like to sleep in a nice warm bed.
The next time you find yourself saying “I don’t feel like it,” say “but I do want to (insert benefit.)
Examples-
I don’t feel like exercising, but I do want a stellar body.
I don’t feel like making a healthy dinner, but I do want the energy to do what I want (or need) to do.
I don’t feel like studying, but I do want to provide a better life for me and my family.
