How are you?

It has been one tough winter, hasn’t it? Sheesh!

This is the kind of thing that really builds character. And that’s a good thing.

See, your life is made of choices.

I try to make the best of what I have at the moment. Stuck in the house? Clean it. Study. Do things that will make your life easier and better when things do break.

You may wonder why I harp so much on cleaning house and eating healthy.

These are little things that you can control. When you home is clean and calm, it feels good. Its easier to relax and you can think more clearly. People really don’t think enough these days. A clean house gives you a real sense of accomplishment, pride, and calm.

Eating healthy is more of a journey. People think they can flip a switch. Oh No. It is not that easy for most people. You sort of grow into it. You sort of chip away at removing the bad things. As you feel the little accomplishments, you move on to the next, and the next, and the next. What little healthy change can you make today?

So instead of moaning about how bad this winter is, try using it to your advantage. Oh I know, I’ve been moaning about it too. I am so sick of it I could scream. But what good is that going to accomplish?

OK, OK, moan first, get it out of your system – and then go accomplish something! How’s that?

How have you been holding up this winter? Got any tips for us?

Winter for me is the time to declutter, organize, cook heartier meals, bake banana bread, take long hot bubble baths, do creative things like write or make crafts, play board games with family, rearrange things to give a room a fresh feel, read a good book or magazine, volunteer, and so much more. Every season has it’s own feel and winter for some means slowing down or hibernating. I’m planning a trip to a hot springs. 🙂
