We’re 10 days into the new year. Most of us haven’t shaken the holiday funk yet, let alone done anything at all about our resolutions or goals.
Oh, you might have managed to get the holiday decorations put away, but you haven’t had any real burst of motivation to do much either.
Its normal. You are not alone. The days are short. The weather is cold and dreary. Its just time to cocoon. Nothing wrong with that, as long as it doesn’t go on too long.
For whatever reason, many people just shrug their shoulders and give up.
I never did understand that. You haven’t failed. You still have 355 days left of this year.
I resolved to get my house cleaned up, and I haven’t – so I give up?
I resolved to eat healthier and I haven’t – so I give up?
I mean, isn’t that silly?
I think we all need a couple of weeks to decompress after the holidays. Give yourself a break – but don’t give it up.
I was reading a business newsletter today, and she gave the most excellent advice –
Whenever you are about to do something that goes against the goals you have set, ask yourself –
“Is this how I want to show up in the world?”
Isn’t that powerful?
It works for any goal you have set for yourself.
