Happy Halloween

Photo of a Halloween trick-or-treater, Redford...

It’s a busy day for anyone with small kids, isn’t it? I was very lucky when my daughter was younger and needed mom to come along for trick-or-treating.I was able to get off every halloween – and even then, it was a flurry of activity. But fun, if you just can get yourself to relax and go with the flow. I miss those days…

It helps to have something ready for dinner that you can throw on the table in a few minutes.

Have dinner prepped and ready to go.  You can cook up some chicken
breasts and shred them for barbeque chicken sandwiches. Or have a pot of chili on hand.

Spaghetti is always a good choice too. Make it with green noodles today!

Things like porkchops, steaks, or chicken breasts that you can season and saute in like 10 minutes are a good choice too.

Have salad fixings ready to throw together – and maybe  some cut up fruit. Raw fruits and vegetables are always a life saver.
No cooking! Just throw it together.

Black olives were always a favorite on halloween. A fun food. Kids love to stick them on their fingers and then eat them off one by one.

It’s pretty cold here today, so I imagine trick or treating will be a short lived activity. Hot chocolate will be mandatory! Making real hot chocolate with 2% milk really only takes a couple minutes longer – and tastes so much better.Especially topped with real whipped cream 🙂

Don’t forget to check all of the candy. You never know where some sicko will show up.

Oh, and leave some chocolate for the kids 😉

Have a fun and safe day!

Talk to you soon –

Carole

Cobwebs might be all in fun today, but you’ll want to get rid of them tomorrow.
