Company is coming and the house is a mess?

Uh huh. Last weekend was nice. Cleaning house was the last thing you wanted to do.

Now its Tuesday, and people are coming over this weekend.

Feelin’ a little stressed?

Here’s how you can get the house at least presentable.

Tonite  Pick up and dust.

Go through and put everything away, including the laundry that’s been piling up. Grab some pledge, a piece of old t-shirt, glass cleaner, paper towels, and a feather duster or swifter duster. Go through room by room and dust everything. Don’t forget to look up!

Do not stop until you are done. Do not answer the phone or texts. Do the job at hand.

Wednesday – clean the bathrooms, including floors.

Do not stop until you are done. Do not answer the phone or texts. Do the job at hand.

Thursday – Clean the kitchen.

Counters, cabinet fronts, stove, microwave – inside and out, outside of fridge, everything put away, wash floors.

Do not stop until you are done. Do not answer the phone or texts. Do the job at hand.

Friday- vacuum, touch up dust.

Do not stop until you are done. Do not answer the phone or texts. Do the job at hand.

I’m sorry I don’t have the time, or the space to write a total step-by-step instructions. I’ve done that in Secret Confessions of a Clean Freak. But this should get your house in decent shape.

You can avoid this headache in the future if you use the Clean Freak system. Just sayin…

OK – Get to work!
