Coincidence?

A funny thing happened on the way to the office today.

You know, when you have to pay taxes, you put it off – right? But I figured I would swing by the post office and get that off my to-do list.

I was almost to the post office. The entrance is just on the other side of the train tracks, and wouldn’t you know it – the freight train got there first. So I sat there for 2 or 3 minutes thinking about how bad my luck is. Finally I was able to continue on to work.

I was almost to the end of Grass Lake Rd., and the road was blocked by a police car. There was a hot downed wire and a fire. It had just happened. The work crews had not arrived yet.

We had to turn around and drive a few miles back. This is Lake County. You have to go a long way to get around the water.

Then it occurred to me. If it hadn’t been for that freight train, I could have very well been driving through that spot when the wire came down.

Isn’t that creepy?
