I’ll tell you what – having my daughter back home has been a rude awakening. Between the job, my daughter, the dog, trying to keep up with the blogs, … I have no time for anything.

It has brought me full circle, back to why I wrote Secret Confessions of a Clean Freak in the first place. A few minutes here and there, and a few well executed simple strategies, and the house stays relatively clean. Its not perfect, but if you actually live in your house – it never will be.

Accepting that last point will take a lot of pressure off of you. I know it does for me.

I was talking to my sister last night. She said, OMG, since you taught me that water trick, the microwave is so easy to clean. I used to struggle with that – spending all this time trying to scrub stuff off. Now it just wipes up. I can’t believe something so simple works like that.

I don’t know about you, but i don’t have time to scrub anything. And even if I did – who wants to? That would not be on the list of how I like to spend my time.

Even if I had more time, I certainly would not want to spend it cleaning house. And I don’t want to pay someone $75 – $100 to do a half-assed job – even if I could afford it.

All it takes is a good plan, and the discipline to take the few minutes and actually do it. But isn’t that better than a cruddy looking house that stresses you out all of the time?

You don’t own the ebook? OK, here is my biggest secret.

Make sure the kitchen and the bathroom are cleaned up every might before you allow yourself to go to bed.

I don’t dry the dishes. (I don’t have a dishwasher) I leave them in the rack to dry and put them away in the morning. Takes like 2 minutes.

That’s it. If you let those 2 rooms go for more than a day, it takes forever to get them clean. Stay on top of those 2 rooms and the rest is a piece of cake.

Try it!
