We all know that bananas are one of the best sources of potassium. You may not know that they are also a good source of magnesium. And they are high in skin loving pectin.

Bananas are a great grab and go snack. But really, how many bananas can you eat?

I don’t know about you, but I’m not a big fan of eating a banana plain. Its ok, but not something I want to do every day.

But I do like banana in things like –

On a PBJ. My mom used to make PBJ bananas. Slice the banana lengthwise, spread one side with peanut butter, the other side with jelly, and secure with toothpicks.

Sliced on ice cream. (especially with hot fudge!)

In your milkshake, or protein shakes, or smoothies.

With chocolate fondue

Dipped in chocolate and frozen

Banana Bread

Banana Pudding

Sliced on your cereal.

My southern grandparents would slice a banana in a bowl, cover with milk, and coat with a teaspoon of sugar. Of course, that was before everything you eat now has sugar in it. Back then if you had a teaspoon of sugar with breakfast it was no big deal.

Banana French Toast with Strawberries – just mash banana in your batter. Top the French Toast with strawberries.

Pancakes with Strawberries and Bananas.  Just slice bananas with your strawberries and put on your pancakes.

There are lots of ways you can get these healthy buggers into your diet!

Are there ways that you enjoy bananas that I don’t have on the list? Share them in the comments.
