I was getting ready to hit the sack last night when I got a notice that my sites had been suspended – for too much traffic. Wow. That’s a first for me. And at 1:30 in the morning. You guys really are night owls!

This rain that’s coming through signals the beginning of the end I’m afraid. The end of any more hopes of jumping in the lake. Bummer.
But when I ask if you’re ready for winter, I don’t mean mentally. We’re never ready that way, are we?
No, I mean –
Have you checked your furnace?
Replaced the filters?
Checked your thermostat?
Checked your smoke alarm batteries?
Checked the caulk on your windows?
Checked your coats, hats, gloves, boots? Do they need replacing. Its better early in the season when the selection is the biggest.
Sweaters washed?
Is the car ready?
I know, its the old girl scout leader in me – always be prepared. But if you put it off until that first real cold snap, you’re going to be running around like a chicken with your head cut off – and that’s what we’re trying to avoid here, right?
Now at least, you take one thing at a time and get it done.
I keep looking at the bathing suits hanging there. I’m going to leave them just a bit longer. Maybe we’ll get that great Indian Summer for a few days….
