Everyday, you have to make choices about the food you eat. What are your choices based on? For most people its convenience.
Here’s something to think about.
Here is the ingredient list off the label of a common instant product. Can you tell me what it is?
Enriched bleached flour (bleached wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), sugar, leavening (sodium bicarbonate, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate, dextrose, dried buttermilk, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, salt, wheat gluten, defatted soy flour, calcium carbonate, corn syrup solids, nonfat dry milk, soy lecithin, sodium caseinate, omon and diglycerides, soybean oil, lactid acid.
OK, to be fair – here’s what’s in the real thing – flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, egg, milk, butter, vanilla.
What is it?
Even if you don’t know the dangers of many of those ingredients, which one would you rather put in your body?
Which one would you rather feed your kids?
Is the 2 minutes you save measuring the fresh ingredients worth it?
Food for thought…
