Well, the Labor Day Weekend didn’t go quite as planned. It was supposed to get hot, and it didn’t. Since I don’t like to be cold, that scrapped my plans for being at the lake.
So, since I had hours of time where I could focus… I updated the site so that it is easier to read on your phone, since I’m one of the only dinosaurs that still uses a laptop.
The menu area has been expanded so you can find the recipes you’re looking for faster. Oh, and remember – the members area where the recipes are is really a different website with its own search function. If you are looking for a particular recipe, go to the recipe database and search there.
Its still not perfect, but its better than it was, and I didn’t blow it up! I did blow up Sane SuperWoman Club a while back. Its a goner.
Which brings me to what makes this blog different.
I am a person.
I am not a company.
I do not have an I.T. staff.
I do not have a staff of writers that may or may not know about the topic they are assigned.
This blog is more like getting advice from a mother. Its mostly based on my experience.
I do live the way I write
If you were to come to my house right now, there are some dishes in the sink. I will finish them up before bed.
There is stuff all over the dining room table since that is serving as my office at the moment.
There is other stuff in the room that has been hauled out of the laundry room because we have a leak in the ceiling.
Otherwise, the house is pretty clean.
I cook almost every night
This was a holiday week, and we did go out for dinner tonight. But we did have Lemon Pepper Chicken with steamed carrots and broccoli, Chicken Rice a Roni, and watermelon. I try to stay away from prepared foods as much as possible, but Bob likes that, so I succumb and make it once in a while. We also had pork chops, green beans, buttered noodles and cantaloupe one night. I have spaghetti sauce ready for fake baked mostaciolli with salad and garlic bread.
Oh, and to clear the air, Bob is my friend. I think of him as my little brother. I had some financial difficulties, and he needed help getting this house back in order. Plus he was sick when I first got here. He did end up getting a pacemaker. We are helping each other out. We are not in a relationship.
There are also his 2 twenty-something sons that act like they’re 10 yrs. old when it comes to living like human beings. That is up from 5 when I first got here. Now at least dishes make it to the sink and there’s not stuff thrown all over the house. Bathroom etiquette still leaves much to be desired, but its a lot better than it was! And in all fairness, they were never really taught. They never lived in a clean house before.
I’m not sitting in some ivory tower writing fanciful articles. I live the same struggles you do.
If you experience any problems with the site, or you see something that needs to be fixed, let me know.
If you have an issue that you think I can help with, drop me a line.
I love hearing from you.
I really miss the old days when people commented on blogs. I miss the interaction and conversation. Now people hardly comment on blogs, and even Facebook comments are down. Everyone is so busy, and its a pain to comment on a cell phone. I get it. But I still miss it.
Anyway, its been a crazy week, and its going to be a long day tomorrow. Got to get to bed! I hope you have a great weekend.
My prayers go out to Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the islands suffering from the hurricanes.
And the government doesn’t think we have problems from climate change? Sigh…
