What happened to local news coverage?

Today, hurricane Ike hit Texas, levaing a lot of destruction in it’s wake. You can read about it every where.

But I started hearing that here in the Chicago area, we have major highways and roads closed, flooded underpasses, flights cancelled, the transit system closed down – and you can’t find hardly a word about it. We have entire towns sandbagging, and no one knows.

I truly feel for the people in Texas. But we know more about what’s going on halfway across the country than we do about what’s going on in our own backyard. Isn’t that crazy?
