IRS phishing scam

I’ve gotten about 10 of these emails today -

Taxpayer ID: ezines-00000174073547US
Tax Type: INCOME TAX
Issue: Unreported/Underreported Income (Fraud Application)

Please review your tax statement on Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website (click on the link below):

Just in case, I thought that I would remind you that the IRS is not going to send you an email. They will send you official notification. They won’t ask for personal information – they already have it.

I didn’t open the link to see what they’re doing. It might release a trojan or a worm or other virus on your system, I don’t know. I’m not opening it. Are you?

Be careful out there! Don’t fall for these bogus emails. I know, you’re smarter than that, but I find that not everyone knows – so it’s always good to post a reminder….
