Ready for Thanksgiving Dinner?

How’s your Thanksgiving prep coming along?

I was flipping through the sale papers today finalizing my plans. It’s going to be another weird year here. My daughter is going with her boyfriend. It looks like my big dinner will be Christmas this year. Thanksgiving will be a small affair here, and then we’ll have another dinner at my sister’s on Saturday.

It’s tough balancing everyone’s family obligations.

But I wanted to make sure that I’m keeping you on track!

This weekend you should have the house cleaned, and everything but the fresh foods bought. I’m going to get the fresh stuff Tuesday. Monday is a bad day to buy fresh stuff, and Wednesday will be a circus.

Don’t forget things like foil, napkins, toliet paper… There’s a whole list of things to remember in your copy of Dance Through Thanksgiving. I’ve been stocking up on butter while it’s on sale too, and just throwing it in the freezer for cookie baking emergencies ;-)

I thought about tweeting or blogging a blow by blow description of making the dinner. I wonder if anyone is interested?

Let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great weekend. My daughter’s 18th birthday is coming up, and she wants to go shopping, and out for a nice dinner. No fast food for this girl. Wonder where she got that from???

Yeah, we’re spoiled.

You can be spoiled too -

You’ve Got to See These Handmade Soaps

Handmade soaps sold at Hyères, FranceImage via Wikipedia

OK, I’ve had my head buried in the sand again. I’ve been busy loading recipes at Rebel With a Fork so you all have plenty of good food, not only for Thanksgiving – but for any busy day of the week. It’s turned out to be a tall order! But I think I’ve got a lot of fast easy stuff to get your taste buds activated ;-)

But – I just found out that one of our fellow readers makes these fantastic handmade soaps that sound so luscious – and they’re so inexpensive! I wanted to tell you right away because I don’t know how many orders she’ll be able to handle by Christmass – and at these prices you’ll want to get some.

I get nothing for telling you about them. She doesn’t even know I’m doing this. Shelli is one of us, and these soaps look incredible, and the prices are definitely right. Check them out!  http://buttontreesoaps.com/Soaps.html

Counting down to Thanksgiving…

Boy, it’s been a busy week here. How about yours?

And to think that Thanksgiving is right around the corner! YIKES!

There are a few things you can do this weekend to give you a leg up. First, did you pick up your copy of Dance Through Thanksgiving? That report will give you all sorts of shortcuts, and even take you step-by-step through making a knock-out traditional dinner. And if you’re a member over at Rebel With a Fork – you’ll have even more recipes, and great fast recipes to get you through the weeknight time overload shuffle with extra energy to burn.

Did you look at the grocery store sale papers this week?

All of the baking supplies are on sale. Don’t only be thinking about Thanksgiving dessert, think about holiday parties, holiday gifts, cookies, … I always grab butter when it’s on sale and throw it in the freezer. We’ve gotten so spoiled that we have home-baked cookies a lot more often. We can hardly stomach the store-bought stuff anymore.

This week, you should pick up all of the non-perishables you’ll need for your big Thanksgiving dinner. Don’t forget things like dishes, glasses, silverware, a good knife for cutting the turkey, napkins, tablecloth, etc. There’s a great list in Dance Through Thanksgiving.

Give your house a good top-to-bottom cleaning. If you already follow Secret Confessions of a Clean Freak, this won’t be much of a problem, will it? ;-)

Just those few extra little things will make your life so much easier in a couple weeks!

Oh, you’re thinking – Yeah, I know, but I’m busy. I’ll get to it later…”

Listen, I’m filling the new website, the spa is going through a computer system conversion this weekend, there’s hours of extra training and prep work, I’m super busy too. And I know that I’ll always be super busy. It never stops, does it? My whole secret is knocking little things off ahead of time or I’ll never make it.

You’re going to the grocery store anyway. Make your Thanksgiving dinner list and buy those few extra things this week. You’ll save time and sanity, and you’ll break down the expense so you’re not taking the hit all at one time. (the same principle works for Christmas shopping too)

I know – nag, nag, nag. You’ll thank me later ;-)

No Fail Thanksgiving Planner

Posted under Holidays

TGIF! It’s been a tough week, hasn’t it? And now – when you thought you could relax… Thanksgiving is just 3 weeks away. But if you’ve been on my list for longer than a year – you know that I have a plan.

Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite meal of the year. So much good (and would you believe healthy?) food. Family. Friends. I just love it. But my first couple of years through, it was a nightmare trying to get everything done. Now, it’s a piece of cake.

Just like everything we do at CommonSenseLiving – I’m going to show you how to break it down into little manageable steps. Grab your free Thanksgiving planner and starting doing little things this weekend. You’ll sail through, and everyone will be asking – “How do you do it?”

You’ll have a clean house, a great dinner, and you’ll be the coolest, calmest most together hostess they’ve ever seen. The entire plan includes planning, shopping, cleaning schedule, recipes, and a complete checklist for getting that dinner out in grand style.

And I’m giving it to you free because I’m thankful that you’ve stayed with me. I really appreciate it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Whether you want to give them a copy is up to you. ;-)
