Pick Your Insurance Criminal
Is your Insurance Company CEO guilty of crimes against humanity? True Majority has come up with a really different campaign that I think you might have some fun getting involved in. Here’s an excerpt -
Together with partners across the progressive movement, we’ve gathered a massive posse to arrest these scallywags for crimes against the people — and to make sure Congress passes reform now.
Now you can join the fun! Click here to make your own wanted poster: You can customize it by adding the CEO of your local insurance company and adding to our list of indictments by sharing your story, or the story of someone you know.
What an inventive way to get your voice heard, and have a little fun with it.
I don’t have health insurance, so I don’t have a particular CEO to accuse. That’s why I rely on the info at Rebel With a Fork. I can’t afford to get sick!

Now what happens to health care reform?
The win by Republican Scott Brown for Ted Kenney’s seat has really stirred things up. The support requests are flying in like crazy. I find the dialogs really interesting.
From John McCain -
His victory sent a strong message that you and I have long known – Americans are furious with the liberal leadership in Washington. Their out of control spending and proposed takeover of health care are destructive to our country and we must continue to fight against it.
From Moms Rising -
The victory of Scott Brown in Massachusetts yesterday, an opponent of the healthcare reform bill, for the open U.S. Senate seat leaves the fate of healthcare reform uncertain. But while the politics of the debate have changed, the needs of real people for healthcare have not.
Tell your members of Congress to be strong and continue the fight for real healthcare reform:
From MoveOn.org
For the last year, most Democrats in Washington have let lobbyists and corporate interests run roughshod over the people’s business. Wall Street got bailouts. Bankers got bonuses. Big Insurance rewrote the health care bill. Meanwhile, ordinary Americans continue to struggle to make ends meet.
But now, finally, Democrats know they need to change course to win back voters’ confidence. The question is, will they learn exactly the wrong lesson? Will they give up on change altogether? Drop health care reform? Follow the lead of conservatives like Joe Lieberman and Evan Bayh and embrace “Republican-lite”?
We need to make sure Democrats don’t get it wrong this time. It’s time to demand that they start truly fighting for working families. Pass real health care reform. Rein in Wall street. Take on the banks and special interests that stand in the way of change.

Personally, I think both sides have been full of bull – and I think this election has sent them all a wake-up call -Quit selling us out, or you’ll be joining us in the unemloyment lines bucko!
I know we’re all tired of hearing about it, and sometimes we just don’t feel like fighting anymore – but you have to keep raising your voice for what you believe in. Take every opporutnity for your voice to be heard. Make it really crystal clear that Congress Works for Us!
And not to sound like a broken record or anything – but the best way to reform health care is to get healthy. Believe me – they’re not fighting for your health, they’re fighting for your money. you’re worth a whole lot more money to them when you’re fat and sick. And you’re a lot easier to control once you’re trapped in the system.
Ready to fight back and get healthy?

Health Care Reform? It’s not too late – please take action!
I fully intended to keep things light for the next week, but I received a call to action from both Mike Huckabee and from MoveOn. I hope you’ll take a couple of minutes to read through and sign your name to the petition. This bill does pretty much nothing for anybody. All Obama cares about is having the feather in his cap for his first year in office. Let’s show him he’s got to do better than this! How dumb does he think we are?
From Mike Huckabee -
The Democrats continue to push their health care scheme. They continue to craft a bill in secret, behind closed doors, while telling the rest of the Senate and the American people that they will pass a bill before Christmas.
It’s not too late!! Don’t give up the fight. The Senators listed below are important to the Democrat’s chances of success. Call them now! Tell them to vote against the secret health care bill! Tell them not to invoke cloture! And while you are at it, remind them that the American people are paying attention and watching. If Congress doesn’t heed the words of the people now, they surely will come November!
Call:
Blanche Lincoln, Arkansas 202-224-4843 202-224-4843
Ben Nelson, Nebraska 202-224-6551 202-224-6551
Olympia Snowe, Maine 202-224-5344 202-224-5344
Fighting For You!

Mike Huckabee
And From MoveOn -
Dear MoveOn member,
The latest Senate health care bill has no public option. No expansion of Medicare. And it does too little to guarantee that uninsured Americans will actually be able to afford the coverage they’ll be required to purchase.1
Former insurance executive Wendell Potter put it best: the bill is “a big bailout to the [health insurance] industry.”2
But it’s not too late to fix the bill. And as Joe Lieberman has shown, just one senator willing to stand in the way can force legislation to be changed dramatically.
Senator Bernie Sanders, a strong proponent of the public option, has already made clear that he’s opposed to the legislation in its current form—and he could decide to block it until it’s fixed.3
But there’s enormous pressure from all sides to pass a bill quickly, no matter how weak it is. Let’s show Bernie and other progressives that we’re counting on them to block this version of the bill—and we’ll get their backs if they do.
Can you sign our petition opposing the current Senate health care bill? Clicking here will add your name:
The petition reads: “America needs real health care reform—not a massive giveaway to the insurance companies. Senator Bernie Sanders and other progressives should block this bill until it’s fixed.”
Despite this latest setback, we can still win the health care fight. The House has already passed a strong health care bill with a real public option. It would cover millions of uninsured Americans, offer real competition to the insurance companies, and reduce costs in the long run.
MoveOn members overwhelmingly support the House bill. But it’s clear from member feedback and surveys that the majority of MoveOn members oppose the Senate bill as it now stands.4
And recent polls show growing opposition among grassroots progressives generally—the very folks Democrats in Washington count on to volunteer and donate to their campaigns.5 One found that one-third of Democratic voters will be less likely to vote next year if Congress doesn’t pass a public option.6
So to get real reform, we need to immediately send a powerful message to Senate progressives like Bernie Sanders, Roland Burris, and Russ Feingold that we’re counting on them to block this bill until it’s fixed.

Thanks for all you do.

Congressional Performance Review
Dear Members of Congress,
We the people are your employers. It is your job to look out for our best interest.
Somehow you have forgotten that.
We the people are not happy with rationed health care.
We the people are not happy with facing jail sentences if we cannot afford health insurance. But on the other hand, at least we’ll have food and shelter.
We the people are sick to death of your antics.
We the people are giving you a poor performace review, and unless your performance improves, you can consider yourself unemployed – just like the rest of us.
And we mean every last one of you – across all party lines.
It’s time to totally clean house.
We’re done.

Up to $3800 in fines for no health insurance
That’s right. There is a new proposal in the health care mess that requires health insurance, and fines for those who don’t comply. And don’t worry, the highest rate you can pay under this proposal is 13% of your income.
You can read about it here >>>
So far it seems that keeping up the pressure has been working. Keep letting your congressmen & women know exactly how you feel. Keep Blogging. Keep Tweeting. Keep up the pressure.
You can leave a comment here too
I like my own form of health insurance – Don’t get sick!
But you never can guarantee that you’ll never ever get sick, no matter how healthy you are. And if you can’t afford it, what the heck are you supposed to do?
Oh, I know – get the government health care so they can decide if you’re worth saving or not.
Could they have made a bigger mess of this? Yeah, wait and see….
