I was surfing around and somehow ended up at this public records site. At first I was a bit offended – you know, all this information available about you out there and yada, yada, yada. But I kept reading anyway.

As I thought about it, it’s all information that’s publically available anyway if someone wants to look hard enough.

And then I read this line –
* Check up on potential dates, suitors or life partners
* Investigate a suspicious person or strange neighbor

You know the real reason I quit dating? Because I attract all the sickos. It’s true. I had a counseling session after one of them had tried to kill me and then set my apartment on fire – and the counselor said that I just send out a beam that attracts the guys with problems. That some people are just like that. I though, “yeah, some counselor you are!”

But after my daughter was born, and a couple more bad relationships, I decided that I wasn’t going to take the chance that someone would hurt my daughter. You read all the time about these ‘boyfriends’ who do terrible things to the kids. I wasn’t taking the chance.

If a service like this had been available back then, it could have saved me a lot of grief in life.

And now, my daughter is starting to date.

OK, call me paranoid. But you can bet that I’m going to keep this link handy…
