Housecleaning Products, what works best?   Product Reviews These products have been tested by me. The reviews are based on how they performed for me, and the girls that work for my sister's cleaning business. It is my opinion. I get nothing from these companies. Best Mold & Mildew Removers 1st place- Clorox Clean-Up 2nd Place- Tilex Mold & Mildew remover Note- Do not use on chrome. It will pit. That is true for all mildew removers and bleach products. Fumes may be overwhelming for some.   Best Soap Scum Removers 1st place- Scrub Free Soap Scum Remover 2nd Place - Tilex Soap Scum Remover   Best Cleaner for terribly dirty porcelain bathtubs and sinks- 1st Place - Plain old Comet For Fiberglass and Stainless Steel- 1st Place - Soft-Scrub   Best Daily Shower Spray 1st Place - Clean Shower 2nd Place - Method Note- first place would really go to a squeegee. But the shower spray is good for a quick wipedown of tubs, counters, sinks, faucets. Method products smell great.   Best Cleaners for Tile Floors 1st Place - Lysol, Green Apple Action 2nd Place - Armstrong Floor Cleaner Safe for all floors & cheap - plain old white vinegar   Best for Cleaning Scuff Marks on Floors and Walls Quickly 1st Place - Mr. Clean Magic Eraser   Best Dish Soap 1st Place - Dawn, most varieties (not impressed with Total Care or the power spray) Heck, I use it on the car, the stove, to clean figurines...   Kitchen Cleaners for Heavy Build-up 1st Place - 409 for Kitchen 2nd Place - 409 Orange, but I don't care for the smell.   Best Toliet Cleaners- For rusty hard water - The Works - Lime and rust remover (not really toliet cleaner- but works great on stains) For normal conditions- All work fairly well. Lysol smells the nicest.   Gadgets and Gizmos All these silly battery operated scrubbers and things designed to clean out your wallet - Don't waste your money. Haven't found a good one yet. The Swifter mop is a good idea, but the cleaner leaves a sticky residue.   Dusting 1st Place - Pledge, any regular variety, but orange seems to clean just slightly better. Not the oil! It's awful. I don't care for the wood and glass combination cleaner either. 2nd Place - Endust The oils are tough to get a nice smooth finish, especially the thicker ones. Lemon oils such as Weimans or Holloway House are best. Personally I think the oils are a pain. Weiman's Furniture Cream in the can works very nicely too! Leaves a great lustrous finish. The dusting wipes work OK, I'm just not willing to pay that much to dust! I know there was something else, but I can't remember what it was. Oh well, next update!
