I am so frustrated – I want to scream!

How can I get through to all of the people who for the most part give good healthy eating advice that SOY is dangerous to your health?

Site after site dedicated to healthy eating recommends soy protein, soy milk, and tofu.

The World Health Organization issued a warning years ago regarding our over-consumption of soy, and products that mimic female estrogen in the body. Why is no one listening?

Soy messes with your thyroid, increases your risk of cancer, and makes boys more feminine.

Dr. William Campbell Douglas II, author of The Douglas Report,  even went so far as to blame the rise in homosexuality in boys to soy. In his report The Biggest Medical Conspiracy of the Last 50 Years Plus 9 More Medical Lies that can Wreck Your Life, he says, “Listen, Buddhist monasteries feed this stuff to the monks to help them give up sex!”

France has banned soy in infant formulas. Israel has issued a warning to mothers about feeding infants soy formulas, but not enough is being done.

My daughter always claims that our dog is gay. And I have to admit, he does act inappropriately when he’s around male dogs. Turns out that most pet food contains soy. I never really gave that much thought until I read what Dr. Douglas had to say. I wonder if it’s reversible?

Everyone is always looking for some magic answer, some cool new thing. The answers lie in a plain old-fashioned diet of fruits, vegetables, and real unprocessed foods. It’s like we have to learn how to eat all over again.

Please stop falling for all these fads. And PLEASE top eating soy products!

    I am allergic to soy and everything I buy has soy in it anymore.
    I want a healthy diet cookie to help me along and nnnnnnnnooooooooooooooo. They all have soy. And it really is not funny. Very frustrated.

    You are so lucky to be allergic to soy. I know, you don’t feel lucky, but it will keep you from eating this dastardly stuff.

    You say you want a diet cookie? You’re better off just baking some cookies. As I’ve talked about before, even diet products have tons of sugars in addition to all the unhealthy chemicals. Home made cookies are wonderful, healthier, and really aren’t hard to make.

    I am vegetarian and I eat a lot of soy, in one form or another. I munch on roasted soy nuts, add edamame to my salads and have tofu in some form or another almost every every day.

    I will have to look into this. I am 60, and always thought I was so healthy because of my diet.

    The following was compiled from many sources by many people. If the parents of autistic children do not start to realize when all this soy was added to our foods and when the skyrocketing epidemics of autism and other illnesses (INCLUDING IDIOPATHIC EPILEPSY) really began, the soy industry is going to walk away with billions, no accountability and our children will be left to suffer in silence. Additives and preservations will continue to be added to our foods without our knowledge and consent. If you continue to focus on vaccinations without understanding WHY, then the soy industry will use it against you. And yes, vaccinations did play a part. But, what part? Read the entire article and then, YOU TELL ME. In the meantime, please understand this; you can feed a child every pure, whole food out there and if it is still ingesting even small amounts of poison, it will never, ever heal. Keep feeding someone with a compromised gastrointestinal system additives, preservatives, soy, wheat, sugars, corn and pasteurized cow’s milk and it’s like trying to heal an open wound by rubbing it with coarse grit sandpaper. I pray every parent realizes they are not to blame for any of this. To claim that a food may only be lacking in nutrition and/or to claim it is healthy and beneficial when it is actually poisonous, is not only immoral, it is CRIMINAL. BUT I BEG YOU NOT TO BELIEVE A WORD OF THE FOLLOWING. Read it, do your own research, AND THEN YOU TELL ME.

    STOP THE SALE OF TOXIC FOODS TO MINORS.

    MINORS CANNOT PURCHASE CIGARETTES OR ALCOHOL. WHY? WHY ARE THEY PROTECTED FROM THOSE SUBSTANCES, WHICH ARE HARMFUL TO THEIR HEALTH, BUT NOT FROM TOXIC FOODS?

    IF YOUR CHILD IS EATING ANY PROCESSED FOODS WHATSOEVER THEY ARE EATING ONE OR MORE TOXINS, WHICH DOES INCLUDE SOY PROTEINS.

    Why was the manufacturing and distributing of lead paint banned? Because it can cause poor attention span, noticeable learning difficulty, slowed speech development, hyperactivity, gastrointestinal distress, and seizures? YES. But so do TOXIC FOODS

    We believe all our ill children and many others are suffering from A.I.T.T.F., which is an acronym for AQUIRED INTOLERANCE TO TOXIC FOODS.

    Toxic foods are any and all products made for human consumption that are not minimally processed or which are processed in such a way as to severly remove nutrients and/or which contain either hormones, antibiotics, artificial sweeteners, food colors, flavorings, or any substance classified as genitically modified, chemically altered or which is traditionally classified as “artifical”, which includes SOY PROTEINS.

    Unlike Celiac Disease, (a genetically inherited autoimmune disorder triggered by dietary gluten that damages the intestinal villi in the proximal small intestine) which is hereditary and somewhat similar, our children acquired A.I.T.T.F. either by being born with a compromised intestinal system because of mom’s eating toxic foods and having herself a compromised intestinal system, or by consuming toxic foods as infants and children. Once the intestinal villi are damaged, the body can no longer tolerate any glutens, sugars or other toxic foods.

    A.I.T.T.F is reversible by avoiding all toxic foods, soy, wheat, corn, sugar and pasteurized cow’s milk. There are only four foods that we consume from which adhesives are made, with gluten and casein being used to make industrial glues and bases for paint. Casein, which makes up 80% of the protein fraction of cow’s milk, is the protein from which Borden makes Elmer’s glue. As most of you know, powerful super-glues are made from soy with which much of your car is assembled.

    THE FOLLOWING IS ABOUT CELIAC DISEASE AND IT’S SYMPTOMS, WHICH INCLUDES MENTAL ILLNESS. IF SOMEONE INTOLERANT TO ONE FOOD CAN BE SO ILL, WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE INTOLERANT TO MANY, MANY FOODS?

    Dr. Joseph Murray, of the Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN, is a gastroenterologist who specializes in treating Celiac disease. Dr. Murray gave us the standard definition of celiac disease: celiac disease is a permanent intolerance to gluten that results in damage to the intestine and is reversible with avoidance of dietary gluten. There are some important parts in this definition:

    Permanent: The effects of celiac disease may change from time to time. You may be sicker at one phase of your life than at another. For example, you may be sicker at age two, may seem to get better during the teenage years, may be sick again in your 20s (but with different symptoms), and then present with bone problems when you are in your 50s. So there may be different phases, but it is a PERMANENT intolerance. You do NOT outgrow it; you do not go through phases where you dont have it anymore. (That used to be what was thought and TAUGHT in medical schools.).

    Damage to the intestine: There is definitely intestinal damage; without it you cannot define celiac disease. For some people the damage is severe, for others it is not so severe. It is the cases which are not so severe that can be difficult to diagnose. If the damage is mild then the person interpreting the biopsy might not even think of celiac disease as being a possible cause of the damage.

    Reversible: The damage should be reversible. Dr. Murray says there are about 5% of people with what he believes is celiac disease in whom at one point in their lives the damage becomes irreversible. In these cases there is intestinal damage that does not completely recover. It may partially heal, but not completely. One can infer that they have the same condition as celiacs that do recover, based on their history. There may be something different about that group of patients in their immune systems that makes them different, but that is an area that is still being actively researched.

    Gluten Intolerance Can Injure the Brain
    In 2004, an Italian study showed changes in brain blood flow in celiac patients. The researchers found areas of the brain with diminished blood flow in 11 of fifteen patients with untreated celiac disease, but not those who were on a gluten free diet (Addolorato).

    In other studies, untreated celiac disease is also associated with the development of lesions and scarring in the white matter of the brain. (Non-celiac suffers of autism, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, ms, als, lupus, heart disease, all mental illnesses, migraines, and addictions can all show this exact symptom.)

    Gluten Free Diet Helped Patients with Schizophrenia
    Studies linking gluten intolerance to symptoms of mental illness go back decades and were often ignored. Without this information, many may have suffered or continue to suffer psychiatric disorders when a change in diet might improve or reverse their symptoms. (Which following symptoms do autistic children show?)

    Celiac disease may present with psychiatric symptoms, which, in association with other symptoms, may be of diagnostic help… Kaser (1961) described celiac children as showing definite symptoms in all cases. The children are conspicuously quiet, turned, inward, often weepy, often discontented or surly and apparently lack all joy in living. They can take on negativistic and schizoid characteristics and may execute ceaseless stereotyped movements. Paulley wrote in 1959: many (adult celiacs) showed extreme obsessional neuroses, suffering delusions, frequently believing they had cancer. Paranoid ideas were also frequent and many were considered psychotic or near psychotic.

    White matter lesions in the brain are recognized as a cause of epilepsy, and white matter lesions are now recognized as one of two common brain injuries caused by gluten. So is it any wonder that 1 in 4 autistic children will develop epilepsy? Are they now condemned to suffer a growing list of other illnesses as they age? YES.

    DEMAND THE PROTECTION OF OUR MINORS FROM TOXIC FOODS NOW!

    The gut has a mind of its own, the “enteric nervous system”. Just like the larger brain in the head, researchers say, this system sends and receives impulses, records experiences and respond to emotions. Its nerve cells are bathed and influenced by the same neurotransmitters. The gut can upset the brain just as the brain can upset the gut.

    The gut’s brain or the “enteric nervous system” is located in the sheaths of tissue lining the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon. Considered a single entity, it is a network of neurons, neurotransmitters and proteins that zap messages between neurons, support cells like those found in the brain proper and a complex circuitry that enables it to act independently, learn, remember and, as the saying goes, produce gut feelings.

    The gut’s brain is reported to play a major role in human happiness and misery. Many gastrointestinal disorders like colitis and irritable bowel syndrome originate from problems within the gut’s brain. Also, it is now known that most ulcers are caused by a bacterium not by hidden anger at one’s mother.

    The gut contains 100 million neurons – more than the spinal cord. DAMAGE THOSE AND THEY CAN NO LONGER ABSORB NUTRIENTS NOR PROTECT THE BRAIN FROM TOXINS.

    In evolutionary terms, it makes sense that the body has two brains, said Dr. David Wingate, a professor of gastrointestinal science at the University of London and a consultant at Royal London Hospital. “The first nervous systems were in tubular animals that stuck to rocks and waited for food to pass by,” according to Dr. Wingate. The limbic system is often referred to as the “reptile brain.” “As life evolved, animals needed a more complex brain for finding food and sex and so developed a central nervous system. But the gut’s nervous system was too important to put inside the newborn head with long connections going down to the body,” says Wingate. Offspring need to eat and digest food at birth. Therefore, nature seems to have preserved the enteric nervous system as an independent circuit inside higher animals. It is only loosely connected to the central nervous system and can mostly function alone, without instructions from topside.

    There is much information out there about the signs of food allergies/intolerance but our child did not fit any of those profiles. We are now seeing a whole different array of symptoms, which in our children should include idiopathic epilepsy, autism and it’s many spectrum’s, severe behavioral problems, skin problems, asthma, gastrointestinal distress, ADHD; depression and all other forms of mental illnesses, and Diabetes Type 1, which we recently learned is now directly linked to soy formula. All these symptoms have already reached epidemic levels. It will only get worse. Autism rate has increased from 1 in 150 to 1 in 100 in only two years. One in four autistic children will develop epilepsy in either early childhood or as teenagers.

    There is ample proof that a damaged “gut” is directly related to all those conditions seen in our children and later to obesity, alcoholism, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrigs Disease), cancer, heart disease, lupus, chronic fatigue, diabetes, schizophrenia, major depression and other mental illnesses, irritable bowel syndrome, migraines, and more, much more. They will crave the very things they are allergic to. They will emotionally disconnect. More will fall into other addictions to ease their pain.

    90% of the cells in our body are part of the digestive system. Rolled out flat it would take up the area of a tennis court. The millions of villi in our intestinal system absorb nutrients. Our digestive system prevents toxins from reaching the brain. Once the villli is damaged, it can no longer absorb minerals and vitamins, amino acids, etc., nor can it protect the brain from the literally thousands of toxins in our world today, which does include childhood vaccinations which should not reach the brain, but do.     Researching the original Glutamate/Aspartate Restricted Diet recommended by John B. Symes, D.V.M. (yes, a veterinarian who began his work treating and curing dogs with epilepsy). I came across this from another source: “The problem most likely lies in the fact, that today, we are bombarded with processed foods that contain several sources of free, processed glutamate, the harmful component of MSG…harmful, because it is a form that needs no digesting, allowing large amounts into the bloodstream immediately, and also because it contains other forms of free glutamate, such a pyro glutamic acid, and D- glutamic acid and carcinogens. The brain has a blood barrier and mechanisms that serve to remove excess glutamate from it. However, it is possible, according to Dr. Blaylock, a neurosurgeon, that this excessive amount of glutamate in our food can compromise this process and literally destroy these mechanisms.

    According to previously undisclosed research and the Peanut Genome Initiative, it appears that in the genetic engineering of soy, a soy allergen was created that is 41% identical to a known peanut allergen, ara h 3. This new allergen, now found in soy, is recognized by 44% of peanut allergic individuals.

    Recent studies out of the University of London conducted by Gideon Lack support this undisclosed research and highlight the role that conventional soy (and soy formula) play in the development of the peanut allergy. As a result of these studies, the British Dietetic Association advises parents to avoid exposing infants under the age of one to soy. In France, parents are advised to avoid soy for children 0-3 years of age given the risk that it may present.

    In the United States, 90% of soy now contains these new proteins, chemicals and allergens.

    Leading pediatric allergists and researchers have been funded by the agrichemical corporation responsible for engineering these proteins, chemicals and toxins into soy.

    Soybeans are high in phytic acid, present in the bran or hulls of all seeds. It’s a substance that can block the uptake of essential minerals – calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and especially zinc – in the intestinal tract. Although not a household word, phytic acid has been extensively studied; there are literally hundreds of articles on the effects of phytic acid in the current scientific literature.

    Scientists are in general agreement that grain- and legume-based diets high in phytates contribute to widespread mineral deficiencies in third world countries. Analysis shows that calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc are present in the plant foods eaten in these areas, but the high phytate content of soy- and grain-based diets prevents their absorption.

    The soybean has one of the highest phytate levels of any grain or legume that has been studied, and the phytates in soy are highly resistant to normal phytate-reducing techniques such as long, slow cooking

    There are many substances in food, naturally sometimes, that can interfere with the absorption processes. Such a material is phytic acid or hexaphosphate inositol.

    How could anyone get away with this?

    The answer is simple, given the soy industry is one of the world’s most wealthy and powerful multi-billion dollar industries. The result is an industry that will systematically steamroll anybody that dares suggest there may be problems with the darling soy. When we first questioned the safety of soy, a representative of Protein Technologies told us that they had:

    “…teams of lawyers to crush dissenters, could buy scientist to give evidence, owned television channels and newspapers, could divert medical schools and could even influence governments…”

    This boast has proven all too true, and you’ll be shocked to learn that much of what you’ve read about soy is nothing but a con.” These articles are just a minute sampling of the information easily available to any and all if they only knew what to look for.

    This Bean Increases the Risks Associated with the Mandatory Vaccination Program

    We know that these products reduce the antigen response to vaccinations thereby creating a sub-population of people susceptible to vaccination damage.

    All of the conditions of autism are features of soy-based toxicity.

    Wow! You win the award for the longest comment ever!

    You make a lot of good points.

    I’ve been anti-soy for a long time. The WHO issued a warning about it many years ago.

    And I’ve questioned the recommendation for so many whole grains. For one thing, thin people don’t typically eat a lot of bread. I’ve noticed that whole wheat irritates my system. Then you started hearing about all these people having gluten intolerance. You rarely heard about that condition before. And then there are the ties to arthritis.

    People confuse the need for fiber with eating bread and grains.

    If you read the China Study, as hard as they try to make a case against meat, the one common thread was Casein – a compound found in cow’s milk. I don’t drink milk.

    Which brings us to sugar. Sugar is not a bad thing in itself – in moderation. However – people are being blasted with all these forms of sugar – from corn syrup to artificial sweeteners, and it’s in practically every packaged food. I read the label on a new ‘healthy’ fruit snack the other day. It didn’t sound too bad until I got to the 22 grams of sugar!

    A teaspoon of plain old sugar is 4 grams. So this little bag contained the equivalent of almost 6 teaspoons of sugar! Would you sit at the sugar bowl and eat 6 teaspoons of sugar? That would be crazy – right?

    The real message here from both of us – is to eat real food.

    I am very interested in a sugar-free living. I currently have a sweet-tooth, and am finding it difficult to find meal plans, what to eat for snacks, etc. While diabetes is not something that runs in my family, I am still concerned and would like to be smart and take a proactive approach to my health. Any tips or advice?

    I have a sweet tooth too!

    Fruits certainly are sweet naturally. And you know that chocolate, or cocoa has been found to contain a lot of nutrients.

    I personally don’t believe that you have to give up sugar. The problem is – there are sugars and chemicals in practically every prepared food you buy today. That much sugar is bad! Wouldn’t you agree?

    If you make your own food and you’re eating your fruits and veggies, you’re not getting bombarded with tons of sugar. And if you make your own sweet treats, using pure CANE sugar, indulging in moderation certainly isn’t going to hurt you.

    Please make sure the sugar you use is pure cane sugar. If it just says pure sugar, it is from GMO sugar beets.
