Stuffed Peppers, Italian Style

1 recipe red sauce, or 1 -26 oz. jar marinara sauce

4 large bell peppers, any color

1 lb. 95% lean ground beef

½ cup cooked white rice

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

Wash and remove top and seeds from peppers.

Mix uncooked ground beef, rice, onion, and one cup sauce.

Mix well using clean hands.

Stuff peppers with meat mixture.

Pour ½ of the remaining sauce into slow cooker.

Put in peppers.

Top with remaining sauce.

Cook on low 6 to 8 hours, or until peppers are tender and filling is cooked through.

Serve topped with sauce from pot.
