The first point to remember is that the same diet that’s good for your heart, is also good for preventing cancer and diabetes, and helps you maintain a healthy weight. A healthy diet is a healthy diet. Once you understand that you'll enjoy all of the benefits without driving yourself crazy! 

Here’s a review of the basics of healthy eating - 

  • Eat at constant intervals throughout the day to keep blood sugar levels even and metabolism humming.
  • Essential fatty acids – Omega 3s, from fish or fish oil, with Vitamin E.
  • 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
  • Protein
  • Fiber
  • Calcium
  • At least a good multi-vitamin supplement.
  • Water
  • ½ hour of physical activity everyday.
  • Get enough sleep.
  • Cut back on saturated fats.
  • Cut back on sugars.
  • Cut out trans-fats and chemicals.
  • Take smaller bites.
  • Slow down and chew your food.
  • Get some unexposed sunlight everyday, or use a safe tanning bed, or take vitamin D supplements.

It's really not hard, is it? You can do it!
